Boulder is Flooding (and I’ve got writer’s block)

Right now, I’m in my house in Boulder, looking outside at the pouring rain.

It won’t stop. It hasn’t stopped for three days.

I was going to write a much longer, much different blog post today, but the topic feels like it can wait another day considering we’re in the midst of a 100 year flood.

Sarah and I woke up this morning to a completely strange and foreign world. Like something out of a bizarro Kevin Costner movie.

Check out some of the pictures:

Tennis, anyone?

Boulder Creek is insane. This picture was taken early this morning, and it’s only gotten worse.

The water has now almost reached the bridge over Broadway:

And is pouring in waterfalls over bridges:

CU Boulder closed today. A huge number of CU residents had to be evacuated last night.

But another contingent of CU students partied it up (of course):

I’ve had dozens of people reach out asking if my wife Sarah and I are okay.

We are a little wet, but we’re going to be fine.

Parker is fascinated by the rain, which is entertaining.

I’m mostly concerned with all the families that are facing flooding, or worse today and tonight.

Several FullContact employees have flooded basements. It will be a while until we can collectively dry off.

Stay safe everyone.
